This article addresses frequently asked questions regarding licensing of T-Splines® for Rhino®.

Solution:

As of January 7, 2017 Autodesk will no longer develop new versions or sell the T-Splines, Shape Modeling, and Real-time Renderer Plug-ins for Rhino.

Rhino 5 users
For most Rhino 5 users, nothing changes. You are still able to use your installed software without interruption as long as you want. Usually, you can even install and activate your software on new machines.

Rhino 6 & newer Versions
We will not update these plug-ins for Rhino 6 or any future versions. To continue using T-Spline technology beyond Rhino 5, Autodesk has integrated T-Splines in Autodesk Fusion 360 and plans to continue to actively develop it.

The high quality surfacing and visualization technology found in the Shape Modeling and Real-time Renderer plug-ins have also been integrated into Autodesk Alias.

Note:
Rhino V5 customers with perpetual licenses can use their license as long as they want. The only exception is a limitation on activating older versions of T-Splines on new computers after July 19, 2018.
Customers with T-Splines v3.4 or earlier will be able to activate a license on a new machine until July 19, 2018. Customers with T-Splines v3.5 or later are able to activate licenses on new machines indefinitely.
